Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family. Ryder thinks she's Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County, California at the age of 7 years old. They lived in a place without electricity. The books on television were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she became an avid reader. At the age of twelve, Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. At the age of fifteen, she landed her first acting job onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout high school. She hoped acting could bring change. However, it didn't come to pass. But she continued to chase her dreams. In 1988, it was when Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder played successful roles for numerous films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running two times for Academy Awards.
