Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. Her current position is that as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as part of a wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was an estate tycoon before becoming the proprietor of Lakers as well as other companies. After her parents split up in 1972, she was convinced that they'd abandoned her. At the age 19 she became the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. She founded later in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. Her first role was vice-president of the Lakers prior to taking over the position of president of the Great Western Forum. Her father passed away in 2013 and his controlling control for the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having equal voting rights. She assumed her duties as president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss has also been a part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling group).
